In the Heart of the Caribbean

Our National Animal Sanctuary

White sandy beaches are not our only treasures, we are also very proud of our fauna!

One great example is the great work we have put into preserving some of the world`s most endangered species.

Opening its doors in 1984 our national animal sanctuary has species from around the world. Our facility occupies a total of 340 hectares of open park area filled with vegetation and leafy trees, where a total of 130 species of native birds, exotic animals and endangered species, among them vultures, ostriches, lions, leopards, hyenas, foxes, antelopes and also elephants and rhinos.

The large African Prairie, just one part of the sanctuary, is home to many species of animals native to the African continent cohabit, in a natural environment.

The Avery exhibit including flamingos stands out in particular.

Our animals receive excellent care through investigations to ensure healthy reproduction and animal husbandry that focuses on proper nutrition and veterinary care.

Apart from the park being open to the public, for a safari park experience fully immersing guests into the animals natural environment, educational activities such as attending lectures, conferences, participating in training and interactive games, ensure respect and knowledge of our animals is shared.

In recent years we have been successful in numerous reproductions of animals facing extinction, such as the White Rhino.

The subspecies is considered Critically Endangered (possibly extinct in the wild).

Following closure due to the worldwide Covid, the park took the opportunity to pandemic to concentrate on reproduction and one positive consequence is the opportunity now to share our success with the world. New births have included leopards, Bengal tigers, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and oxen, with more than ten births of high-value species.

A white Bengal tiger cub was born at the national animal sanctuary on April 14, 2021.

New opportunities

Many other facilities around the world need help in preserving rare or endangered species, so with this in mind, we are excited to be able to assist by sharing some of our reproductive successes.

We are interested in hearing from any facility that is actively seeking to assist in the preservation and celebration of the world’s most beautiful and rare animals. We are open to new ideas in this field and can share our success with others, to help promote the preservation of endangered species.

We have a range of exotic animals available, including marine mammals.
